artyGirl was started in 1997 by one woman. Her idea behind the gallery was to create a casual, but creative, atmosphere for local artists to get together and share their best work. artyGirl is a roaming gallery held several times a year in different locations. The shows tend to be thematic and represent 15 or so artists working in all mediums. Prices for the artwork are kept reasonably low so that nearly everyone attending the shows can leave with a piece of art. Our artists are encouraged to be on hand during the shows to discuss their work with viewers, leading to an art party atmosphere.
Our goal is to make art more accessible to a younger crowd and to those just beginning to collect. We actively support the artist just beginning to create and are proud to represent some of Nashville's outstanding artists. While we strongly support women in the arts, artyGirl is not exclusively women. All are welcome to submit artwork for consideration.
